Wolf mask (With tutorial)

Hi! How are you doing?

I couldn't post this one yesterday, But there were problems with my modem so I couldn't acces the internet.

So here is my next creation: a wolf mask I made from paper maché (is that a correct term?) in side, front and three-quarter vieuw:

I made it like this:

1) Blow up a balloon
2) Cover half the balloon with the glued paper, in a vertical manner, about five layers thick.
3) Wait for the paper to dry and then add three more layers. Make sure there is no air between layers as it weakens the structure of th mask.
4) When it has dried (just act like this sentance is in front of all steps :P), break the balloon, resulting in a hollow mask.
5) Stick two toilet-paper cores on top of each other and stick them on the mask, the swiftly glue then fast with paper.
6) Fold pieces of paper over themselves a few times, resulting in a thick strip, and  put them in five locations around the nose (the toilet paper cores), on top, to the left and right, and to the upper left and right. This makes the slopes for the forehead and cheecks. You can also do this in layers, each layer having a better angle then the former. Then put strips of paper around these strips, making a cone wich begins to look like an animal.
7) Cut of the top of the snout so it is more round, then fortify the structure created above until it is strong enough to bear some strain or blows. You don't want your mask falling apart if it bumps into something!
8) Fold a little cardboard storage box, for example a box for cake (powder?) or teabags, into a bottom jaw. This may look twisted, but it only has to serve as a 'skeleton' for the jaw. Mine is still a bit stissted though :). secure it in place quickly.
9) Cover up the bottom jaw with paper. Fill up holes in the jaw with little plugs of paper. This can also be used to make the jaw more round.
10) Make holes for the eyes and make the beginning shape of the ears with cardboard. Also make four holes in the sides to attach the string.
11) Make a thick wad of paper by folding it up upon itself a few times and put it on the back of the ear, then secure it with more strokes of paper so no holes or creases can be seen. repeat for the other ear.You can also make some teeth if you want to.
12) make sure there are no loose hanging pieces of paper. Give it no chance to appear by making tiny stokes of paper and putting them in all directions in the six holes, like a star.
13) paint the thing!
14) now make sure the paint will not wear away by putting polish on it, making it a little shiny.

Now step back and admire your work!

I hope you like it! Bye!
