League Of Legends review

Hi all! I trust you are doing well?

Cho'Gaths gentleman skin
I am playing league of legends too! I was kinda infected by ram9bo I guess... anyway, I think it is a neat game, so I am writing a review about it:

THE LEAGUE
League of legends is a game where the player (according to lore at least) is a summoner, some sort of politician for the continent runeterra where you live. In order to solve political problems, every summoner summons its own champion, wich may be a knight with its own reasons for fighting, a soldier for hire, or a trapped monster. This champion fights for its respective summoner. Well, thats that for the lore!

there are a few different types of fields of justice, or battlegrounds. I am only going to descibe one, The most used  battlefield: the summoners rift. You are either the red or the blue team (always blue when playing against bots). You start in the upper right corner (red) or the bottom left corner (blue). There are 3 different lanes to walk on. They aren't that different from eachother, but wich type of character does which lane is determined by unwritten rules. I haven't figured them all out yet, as I only have unlocked one champion (+10 different champions every week, which are free-to-play in that week). between these lanes is a river down the middle and jungle. in this jungle you can find different types of neutral mobs, from lowly wolves to baron nashor, whcih is extremely hard to kill, but gives a huge boost to your whole team when defeated. When the game starts, minions will begin pouring out of your base in groups of 6 (3 mages and 3 warriors). minions are mindless, easy-to-kill creatures that keep walking foreward on their respective lanes whatever happens (outside of combat). Along the lanes are turrets like the one from my post league of legends turret. Your purpose is to fight past enemy minions, turrets and champions all the way into the enemy base to the inhibitor. If you detroy this building the respective lane you are in will start spawning superminions which are... SUPER minions (duh). If all 3 inhibitors are destroyed you can destroy the 2 nexus turrets, and after that, the nexus itself. If this nexus is destroyed you have won the game.

minimap of the summoners rift, that appears in the corner of your screen. The horned things are turrets, the three stars are inhibitors, the globe-in-stars are the 2 nexusses.

During this match you will have to kill enemy champions, either (or both of course :P) with your auto attack or you abilities. Auto attack  speaks for itself, but abilities can be a lot of things. They are like any other ability form any online rpg, appearing at the bottom of your screen. They are hotkeyed Q, W, E, and R (your ultimate ability or ult). These abilities can do direct damage, temporarily buff you or infuse your auto attack, with more speed, damage, or even area of effect. Your ult can do lots of things likewise, depending on your champion. To name som of the weirdest:
1) eating an opponent, growing bigger each time you kill an enemy or minion with this ability
2) transforming into a dragon for a short time
3) placing landmine mushrooms
4) just doing a lot of damage, with a spectacular effect.

Also, you can buy items with permanent buffs or potions with one-time use buffs or heals.

The champion that I favor is Cho'Gath, A giant insectoid/craboid/humanoid creature. Some of the abilities described above are from him (tha auto attack with aoe, the eating/growing ult).

Here is a picture from choie:

His abilities on a row are:

q) rupture: chogath stamps, and an area will sprout spikes which will knock enemies into the air and temporarily slow them for 60%
w) feral scream: Cho'Gath screams in a cone in front of him, damaging and temporarily silencing them (making them unable to use abilities themselves)
e) vorpal spikes: This ability acts as a toggle, giving Cho'Gaths auto attacks an area-of-effect.
r) feast: Cho'Gath does 1000 true damage (not affected by armor or magic resist items) on minions or neautral mobs, or 350 true damage against champions (this ability will do more damage if Cho'Gath ivests more level points (BTW, you have to unlock abilities with poits you get if you level up in a match. You can unlock the ult at level 6)). If Cho'Gath kills his opponent, he will grow bigger to a maximum of 6 stacks.

Cho'Gath is a mage tank. that means he has massive health and armor, and relies on his abilities mostly. And so there are more combinations possible.

So, now you know what league of legends is. A few pros and cons:

pros:
1) free
2) never the same
3) many different playstyles, even with the same champions
4) never gets boring, guaranteed diffrent every game (especially against other people)
5) great champions :P
6) gets updated regualary

cons:
1) takes a LONG time, you have to carefully plan when to play. A match against bots are about 3 quarter hours. a PvP match can easily reach five quarter hours or even six.
2) gets the same sometimes, especially against bots
3) no role-playing aspect, altough there is a lot of lore
4) to buy some things, or buy normal things more quickly, you need to pay real life money. You have to be willing to do this, which I am NOT. So no skins (different champion looks, EG gentleman, robot, jurassic (bone) or loch ness Cho'Gath) for me XD
